Neysa Guerino
Executive Director
 

Neysa, new to the IPA in January 2013, has extensive experience in nonprofit management and grant administration.  She has overseen the development and implementation of federal and state programs related to keeping older adults and individuals with disabilities in the community through support services including care management, respite services and care transitions.   Neysa is committed to person-centered and coordinated care.

Edna Wells, CCS-P, CMPE
Director of Operations
 

Edna brings more than twenty years of leadership experience in health care management with a concentration in network development, health plan operations and provider engagement. Edna has an in-depth knowledge of the Connecticut payer market, especially Commercial and Medicare Advantage plans with a focus on physician compensation programs and network contracting initiatives. Edna has been instrumental in helping physician practices adapt to pay for performance programs, Medicare surplus-sharing models, Health Information Technology implementation, coding compliance programs as well as other practice based initiatives.

Edna is a certified coder and a member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). Edna has earned the professional designation of Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) from the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE), the certification body of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA).

Rosemary Hokanson
Director, Network & Clinical
Services
 

Rosemary joined CSMS-IPA in February 2015 and brings many years of healthcare experience working with physicians, hospital systems and payers. She is a results driven Sales/Marketing Leader with experience in healthcare consulting. Rosemary prides herself on developing high performing teams and has a proven track record of exceeding goals by understanding customers needs. She is committed to educating stakeholders on delivering patient-centered care, with a focus on the Triple Aim.

Kathy Gearing, MSN, RN
Care Coordination Manager

  Kathy Gearing joined the IPA in August of 2016 as Care Coordination Manager. Kathy supports the team with a patient centered focus on quality care to achieve the goals of the organization. She received a Master of Science in Nursing Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Finance. Kathy has been a nurse for 20 years with the majority of it focused in emergency care. In her most recent role she was in hospital administration
 

Alison Zebendon
Operations Manager
 

Alison joined CSMS-IPA in May of 2016.  She received a Master of Science in Healthcare Informatics and a Bachelor of Science in Health Management & Policy. Alison has worked in various healthcare environments including behavioral health, home healthcare, and hospital administration.  Alison is excited to be a part of the IPA, and looks forward to supporting our efforts in driving providers and practices towards achieving the best quality of care possible.

 

Kathy Carlson
Physician Network Specialist
 

Kathy recently joined the CSMS-IPA staff as Physician Network Specialist. In her role she will support all functions of the CSMS-IPA clinical team. Her primary responsibility is to engage physician offices around patient management with emphasis on clinical initiatives and best practices. She will also provide health plan payer and third party vendor coordination. Kathy’s career includes positions in practice management, patient outreach coordination and management of the hospitalist program at a community hospital. In these roles she served as the patient liaison, conducted quality auditing and lead the implementation of a Health Information Exchange for a community hospital system and it’s community providers. Her experiences align with helping our members achieve the Triple Aim.

Karin Coppola
Physician Network Specialist

  Karin Coppola joined the IPA in August of 2016 as Physician Network Specialist. She will be focusing her efforts with our practices educating physicians and their staff on payer sponsored programs, promoting the use of the CareScreen® technology platform and assisting them to achieve success in our payer collaboration. Karin welcomes the opportunity to serve as a resource to physician offices. Karin has more than 18 years in the healthcare industry, in both pharmaceutical sales and promotion of hospital core and specialty services available to the physician community. Pattie Mastriano
Outreach & Administrative
Coordinator
 

Pattie has twenty eight years combined service with the CSMS-IPA and the Connecticut State Medical Society (CSMS). Pattie’s knowledge of the organizations and physician network lends to her ability to be a resource for the IPA physicians and liaison between the varieties of organizations in the health care market place. Pattie enjoys applying her organizational skills to support CSMS-IPA physicians and management in planning various organizational events in a statewide capacity. In addition, Pattie is responsible for corporate office functions including accounts receivable and payable and legal document coordination.

Cindy Agosto
Network Coordinator
 

Cindy has been in the administrative field of health care for sixteen years. For three years she was in the marketing and sales area. Cindy has been with the CSMS-IPA for the past thirteen years, where she provides support to IPA physicians and their practices in key areas related to documentation and program requirements. She also triages calls to be sure they are directed to the appropriate department and that responses are made in a timely manner.

Evens Borno
Database Coordinator
 

Evens is a motivated and organized IT professional with experience in analyzing, designing, and implementing business process improvements. He has an Associate of Science degree in Information Technology and a Certification in Web development. Evens is committed to providing impeccable customer service and through his acquired expertise of IT functions and processes delivers timely support to the analysis team. During his tenure with CSMS-IPA as the Database Coordinator, he has developed his knowledge of healthcare delivery and utilizes that information as a frame of reference for all of his work.

The Connecticut State Medical Society - IPA (CSMS-IPA) is the largest and only statewide IPA in Connecticut and one of the largest in the nation. The CSMS-IPA is comprised of approximately 7,000 physician members. The CSMS-IPA is governed by a 27-member physician Board of Directors.
