Finance Committee

Chairman - Charles Shooks, M.D.

Overall Responsibilities:
  • Review financial reports pertaining to IPA revenues and expenses with a focused attention on IPA profitability.
  • Assure timely reporting, run outs and financial lags pertaining to medical expenses to maintain accuracy and timeliness of information reporting.
  • Report to Executive Committee and full Board on a regular basis.
  • Interface with other IPA committees to address fiscal concerns.
  • Address physician member issues as they pertain to reimbursement.
  • The following programs are under the direction of the Finance Committee:
    • Continuous independent market survey of reimbursement issues
    • Audit program development
    • Out-of-network cost reduction program
    • Generic utilization enhancement initiatives
    • Development and monitoring of cost containment initiatives for all aspects of health plan expenses including inpatient, outpatient and ancillary services.
    • Gain share monitoring, oversight and audit.
